PROJECT: Aberdeen Advanced WWTP - ENR Upgrade Project

DESCRIPTION: Kinsley Construction is providing a competitive bid proposal for the Aberdeen Advanced Waste
Water Treatment Plant ENR Upgrade located in the City of Aberdeen, Maryland. The work includes constructing,
complete with all equipment and accessories, the following in accordance with the plans and specifications:
1) new parallel influent sewer; 2) new influent flow equalization system; 3) new influent screen; 4) new motors and
drives for 2 existing lift pumps; 5) aerated grit removal blower system; 6) new primary effluent/return activated
sludge distribution box; 7) new reactor tanks; 8) new de-nitrification filters; 9) new ultraviolet disinfection system
with overhead canopy; 10) new return activated sludge (RAS) chlorination tablet system; 11) new sodium hydroxide
storage and feed system; 12) new grit aeration blowers at the Grit Building; 13) new Equalization Tank Electrical
Building; 14) new emergency generator; 15) modifications to the existing reactors; 16) replacement of three (3)
existing RAS pumps; 17) modifications to the existing ferric chloride system; 18) modifications to each of the four
(4) final clarifier effluent boxes. 19) new instrumentation and process control system; and 20) associated
demolition, site work and yard piping.
DBE businesses are encouraged to submit bids. There are DBE participation goals (construction: 11% MBE
/11% WBE; equipment: 11% MBE/11% WBE; services: 12% MBE/10% WBE; supplies 11% MBE/11%WBE). A
pre-bid meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 10:00am at the Aberdeen Advanced WWTP
located at 361 Michael Lane, Aberdeen, MD 21001.
TRADES INCLUDE: Demolition, site work, dewatering, sheeting & bracing, rock removal, cast piles, asphalt
paving, process piping, fencing, cast-in-place concrete, architectural precast concrete, misc metals, aluminum
metal fabrications, glass fiber fabrications, FRP stair and railing system, membrane roofing, joint sealants,
aluminum doors and frames, chemical resistant finishes, painting, identifying devices, signage, variety of WWTP
equipment, precast concrete canopy, pre-engineered metal canopy, insulated precast concrete, methanol storage
system, hoists and cranes, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and instruments and controls.
