Bid #11-T-1, FY'12 School Buses

Description


This bid is for the purchase of school buses needed for the 2011-2012 school year. Buses are bid annually in the fall preceding the school year in which they will be used, because there is an eight-month lead-time for production. The bid schedule will allow us to place orders with the manufacturers by the end of November 2010. Delivery must be accomplished no later than July 15, 2011. The number of buses projected at this time is based on replacement of extended life buses and spare buses with air conditioning. It is anticipated that approximately thirty-four (34) will be purchased and includes the following types of buses: (30) Large (64/66 Passenger) (1) Type II (24 Passenger) (3) 193 Wheel Bases w/2 Wheel Chair Positions and Lift (18 Passenger) Additional buses may be purchased once enrollment projections are finalized by Ray Barnes. Bid prices will be available for any additional purchases through August 2011. These buses will be expensed from FY11 funds and from the FY12 budget.
