The Maryland Port Administration (“Administration”) is soliciting competitive bids from qualified contractors to furnish all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for:



The procurement and installation of security booths at the Dundalk Marine Terminal and the South Locust Point Marine Terminal. Three new security booths are required at the Dundalk Marine Terminal which will replace existing structures, and the work at this site must be phased such that one travel lane remains open at all times. One new security booth is required at the South Locust Point Marine Terminal. The construction includes related demolition at the Dundalk Marine Terminal and new supporting utilities (ductbank, power, etc.) and all related work at the Dundalk Marine Terminal and the South Locust Point Marine Terminal. The contract awarded shall allow for one hundred eighty (180) work days for the completion of the work. Liquidated damages of four hundred dollars ($400.00) will be assessed for each day the work under the contract remains incomplete.



PRE-BID CONFERENCE PROCEDURES:

A pre-bid conference and site visit will be held at 10:00 o’clock a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at South Locust Point Cruise Terminal 2001 East McComas St., Baltimore, Maryland 21230. The purpose of the pre-bid conference is to explain the procurement requirements of this solicitation. Information presented at the pre-bid conference may be very informative; therefore, all interested Offerors are encouraged to attend in order to be able to better prepare acceptable proposals. Attendance at the pre-bid conference may be required in order to satisfy MBE participation procedures. Contractors must bring their own hard hats and safety vest to pre-bid.
