PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Garrett CARC – Gymnasium (Phase II)
Construction of a 1-story, 42,000 SF Gymnasium. The building will house a 3-court gymnasium, offices, locker rooms and support spaces. This project is phase 2 of a 2-phase project. The gymnasium construction will include a connection to the Phase 1 Aquatic Center, currently under construction. All site work with the exception of utility tie-ins is being constructed under Phase I. A gymnasium building pad will be in place prior to the commencement of construction. The building structure is predominantly masonry bearing walls with structural steel columns in limited areas. The roof is a 4-ply built-up system on insulation, metal deck and steel joists. Exterior building materials are brick, cast stone, insulated metal panels, aluminum curtain wall and storefront. The mechanical system is comprised of split system, air-cooled, constant volume, air handling, energy recover units. The boilers serving the Gymnasium are provided in the Phase 1 Aquatic Center.
