WESTERNPORT RETAINING WALL REPAIR
The Town of Westernport has received a State grant award of $140,000 to complete repairs to existing failing retaining walls with in the Town. Separate sealed bids for repairs to the failing retaining walls located at 219 Wood Street, 410 Vine Street, 124 Johnson Street will be received by the Town of Westernport at Town Hall, 107 Washington Street, Westernport, Maryland 21562, until 3:00 PM, local time, Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Please mark sealed envelopes with RETAINING WALL BID.
This project includes securing the individual work areas including traffic control, demolition of the current failing portions of the individual wall areas, casting in place of new retaining walls, and replacing of all stairs and landings along the repaired retaining walls. This work will include repairs to the asphalt along the street, replacement of damaged curbing, and reseeding of grassy areas. All work is within existing road areas and right-of-ways.
Contract Documents maybe obtained at the Westernport Town Office during regular business hours. There will be a pre-bid site visit on March 2, 2010 starting at the Town Office at 1 pm. Contact the Town Office at 301-359-3932.
This request is for a firm fixed price proposal to complete the repairs in each of the designated areas. Contractor is to provide all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, signage and supervision.
Bids must demonstrate intent to comply with all Federal Wages Regulations including the Davis Bacon Act. Bids should identify intended procedure to complete repairs, should identify labor, products and materials to be used by line item, and should identify the ability to complete the work in a timely fashion. Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. The successful bidder will be required to be bonded to the Town to the sum of 100% of the amount of the proposal.
Bids will be opened at the Town Office at 3:00 PM, March 24, 2010. Bid documents maybe examined at the Westernport Town Office and/or Bennett, Brewer & Associates, LLC, Frostburg, MD.
The Town of Westernport reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities as the interest of the Town may require.
